New Orleans, Louisiana
Located in the “boot” of Louisiana, New Orleans overlooks the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Saint Louis Cemetery
Three Roman Catholic cemeteries form the overall Saint Louis Cemetery. Constructed in the 18th century, all graves are above ground vaults.
The National World War II Museum
Located in the Central Business District of New Orleans, the national WWII Museum is dedicated to the involvement of the United States to the allied victory of WWII. The museum features a large collection of artifacts and educational exhibits, and is also affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution.
Ogden Museum of Southern Art
Associated with the University of New Orleans, the Ogden Museum of Southern Art exposes visitors to the visual arts and culture of the American south. Works from artists in each of the 15 traditional southern states are all featured.
Audubon Zoo
Named in honor of naturalist John Audubon, the Audubon Zoo features 2,000 animals and is located in Uptown New Orleans. Two rare white tigers and two white alligators call the zoo home.
Jazz National Historical Park
Founded in 1994, the Jazz National Historical Park preserves the history and timeline of American jazz. Visitors can trace the origins and evolution of jazz, and on certain days, listen to scheduled concerts.
Mardi Gras World
For a behind the scenes tour of Mardi Gras, visitors can stop at Mardi Gras World. Guests can tour the warehouse where the floats are constructed before each year’s parade.
