Cruise Packing Checklist

With spring right around the corner, many travelers are gearing up for fun, tropical excursions. While you might have your swimsuit and sunglasses packed, here’s a list of 8 items you may have forgotten to add to your cruise packing checklist!

Don’t leave for your next cruise without these essentials.

Woman applying sunscreen

Sunscreen

While some may claim that they don’t get sunburnt and that they want to come home with a great tan, everyone needs sunscreen on board a cruise. The sun’s rays are much more direct near the equator, so you will need even more protection than at home!

Motion Sickness Medication

There’s nothing worse than going on vacation and not being able to enjoy yourself. Don’t let that be you. Be prepared for how you may react to living on a constantly rocking and swaying ship!

Jacket/Sweatshirt

While at ports of call, it may be hot and sunny, the sea breeze can really pick up on deck when the ship is in motion. Bring some extra layers along to ensure that you stay extra cozy and comfortable.

Mesh Laundry Bag

Mesh Laundry Bag

A laundry bag is a great way to keep your clean clothes separate from your dirty clothes from day to day. This saves time when picking out what to wear and keeps your stateroom nice and tidy.

Lanyard

On most cruises, you will receive one card that acts as both your room key and your form of payment for extra items on board. Keep this card handy by clipping it to a lanyard around your neck!

Towel Clips

As mentioned above, the top deck can get a little breezy. Make sure your towel doesn’t fly away by easily attaching it to your deck chair with towel clips.

Water shoes

Water Shoes

Water shoes aren’t just for kids! Water shoes are a smart idea on board to keep from slipping on a deck that’s wet, as well as at port, since you may be taking part in activities on rough terrains.

Ziplock Bags

Ziplock bags have so many different uses when it comes to cruising. Keep your phone and other valuable items dry while you hit the pool, or take one ashore to store seashells in!
